Ive created a thread in the events page.
This post is a heads up as I know a lot of stuff on the events page goes unnoticed.
see here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Shakey meet up 13th/14th May.
I look forward to seeing the usual faces and hopefully plenty more.

Could do Friday evening to Saturday.

Unfortunately would have to leave at some point end of Saturday as it is Mrs phazed's birthday on Sunday and she wants to go to the Cowpie Rally in Kent,(Nothing to do with cars I'm afraid). rolleyes

Would come in Mobile Committee Office as the chances of me running the car up the strip are slim to none!

I will leave it to Derek to try and beat my record .......................
My van can accommodate a few for the AGM and chili but the weather will be warm enough for al fresco anyway.
I am down on power with the latest engine so your NA record is safe from me taking it at least. I think Daz could be a danger with my MTs on.... if I lend him them tongue out

If anyone fancies a little practice this weekend then I will be at York. It's RWYB only on Saturday so loads of track time.

Looking to be a great weekend.
I think I wont be using too much gas so maybe a high 11 at best.
Neal should run that just rolling off the line and winding all that power in.
Lets see if he just sits spinning the rears while I get away tongue out

Think you have Derek worried Nealsmokinsmokinsmokinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
Any man would be a fool not to. Neals car has massive potential. It's going to be an interesting day. If my record is taken then it's a great incentive to go LS myself

Phuk! Derek emailed me about half an hour ago and said he would have them. Bend his ear maybe.

I will bring them down and another pair of 5 stud spares without tyres and we can talk.
Hmmm if I was a nice fair sportsman I would let you have those tyres Neal.

Mac has a set that I was going to borrow so my runs should be on decent rubber which will help smile

Do you spin at all on the ET's ?

How much nitrous are you going to run ??

Why not share and play nicely!
Neal, I'm stopping at Macs on the Friday and going for a few beers, ru joining us?
Sounds a plan to me beer
neal, if I warm my MTs up enough to create smoke for a few seconds then I can launch as hard as I dare off the line with no wheelspin whatsoever. At the weekend at York I ran 1.60 to 60 feet with only a 70 shot of nitrous. I am not sure I dare use much more as the current engine is back to cast Pistons with cutouts. I managed 11.4 at 118

loody hell if I could have got that 1.65 to 60ft at Shakey that would give me a 12.6 ET bounce
As a rule of thumb every tenth gained at 60 foot is worth at least 2 at the 1/4 mile.

Newbie to rwyb here. Never been down a strip before so going to give it a go this weekend.
My intention is to bring my caravan down as well and stop over. Caravan = fridge = cold beers!!
See you all there.
Hi Frank, good to have newbies. We don't bite. Well maybe Daz does but we can keep him on a leash.
I hope you will be bringing a camera along to get some good snaps too wink

No Daz but I recorded the numbers on the chart.

Weather looks promising as well.

I'm not on facebook but has anyone put anything on there to the various TVR groups see if we get any more together.
I spread the word on FB somewhat. I predict a few will show up.

You do realise that they only allow two at the bedside during the key times? She will want her mum, and her husband/sperm donor will have to be the other faint-dummy in the room. So you will just be a spare part in the relatives room, for 17 hours with no beer.

When my grandson was born my wife was already oop in't frooozen noorth with her daughter, as was the girl's intended (the young these days seem to have the child the year before the wedding). I finished a 12 hour day at the mouseface, left Essex at 6pm for the 5 hour drive on a summer friday evening to 't frooozen nooorrth in utterly ste traffic, stop/start on the M6, you know the drill, finally arriving at a place the locals call Ormskeeeeerk at 11pm, utterly knackered.

Daughter had been in labour for about 24 hours by then, and they went for an emergency Caesarian at 5 to midnight. Was i allowed in? Nope.
Finally made it to a bed at about 3 am, to be allowed to see daughter and brat at 10.30 the following day.

So, as first births are always long drawn out affairs, you might as well head to Shakey with your mobile on ultra-loud ring and have a pleasant weekend with the lads, rather than stuck in an overheated maternity joint reading a worn out copy of Cosmopolitan/My Weekly from 1987 from cover to cover for the 19th time.

There's only so many ways you can crochet an orgasm, after all........
the most sensible thing you have ever said.

I am quite organized and prepared for a change.
There will be a firepit and BBQ at my van for those who are coming Friday and those camping on Saturday night. I have a van full of tools and a spare pair of drag radials for people to try. I even have a spare driveshaft if anyone is unfortunate enough to snap one. We could fit it in the pits to get you home.

Really looking forward to seeing Neals car in action and hopefully I will get lined up alongside with the nitrous at the ready.
How will it go? Predictions please
