Mad Window Mechanism

Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on my latest problem, obviously this car isn't used to being used!

The metal spring/chain that is wound up and down by the motor seems to have become detached from the motor and wound too far so it is partly out of the runner (why didn't I take a picture).

I've taken the door card off (second time in the last few months) and can see the problem but not the solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks, your right it looks like a bh of a job. Will have to have another play with it and see how I get on. Really don't fancy taking the glass out
