Half shafts and cv thingies.

Hello I want the stronger half shafts with those things which go on the ends .
Im aware davmac do them and another place do them cheaper .

Can anyone givee me advice .thanks

Are the shafts different lengths?
I have gone from gkn to btr so they might be shorter .

At least the cv thingies need replacing and are original.

There is play which is contributing towards drive train slack .

I need good quality cv thingies and not sure about the shafts .
Im a little put off spending 900 quid at davmacs.
Advice please.

Scenario. Hot drag tyres and a warm track late in the day, maximum revs bouncing off the limiter, 450ftlbs of torque and sidestepping the clutch from a standing start.

With this huge abuse the driveshafts never broke but a stub axle did!

Go check your car first. If I remember correctly these shafts were fitted from about 98 onwards.

Do you have a picture of a shouldered half shaft ? If they are do I just swop the cv joints ?
