Refurbishment of dash, option advice

As is common, my walnut dash is cracked next to the ventilation controls, so want to change it. Looking for inspiration.

I was originally going to keep with the wooden dash and then add a wooden rim/polished spoke steering wheel as I think the black wheel jars.

Metal I am not sure about, not because I don’t like it, but because It might be OTT in a lighter interior....I do like the basket weave finish though.

Any other ideas?
