Half shaft direction?

How important is it to replace the shafts the same way they came out? I remember watching WD when they rebuilt the Cerb and Ed talked about the historic direction of force they would of used to.....

..getting the correct orientation might be a problem at this stage!

It's had a pampered life up to now, so hopefully shouldn't be too much of an issue then, although that may change after it's rebuild!
