Plenum bolts with washers?

When I removed my plenum for sprucing up, I noticed that there were no washers under the securing bolts. Kits online suggest a washer should be in place, others an additional spring washer too. It was last assembled at a specialist. What is the general consensus out there?

Thanks all. I touched then up with some silver paint, but you're right, stainless would be better. I asked because all these kits on fleabay show spring washers:

I'd considered buying the bolts and washers separately to save a few quid but the standard M8 washers (form A or form B) are 16mm o/d which is too wide!

All those kits seem to have standard M8 washers that won't fit in the aperture between the bolt hole and the plenum body, whereas the spring washers seem to have a narrow enough diameter to be used. Can't seem to find any 'narrow' M8 washers. Imperial equivalent too wide as well.

Where did you get M8 washers with an o/d of less than the standard 16mm?

I found a listing with the required M8 washers on them, o/d of only 14.7 mm. Now to try and find them on their own!

Genius! I can get 10 on ebay in stainless for 99p. There's no rush to do the job in this weather anyway.
