I think I ran out of fuel the other day, but having never done this before, I just wanted to check that this probably was the case and nothing more sinister is wrong.
I was cruising at about 40mph in 4th, when the engine just died on me. After an initial panic looking for the hazards, I tried to start her up ..... no problem and I drove another 5 miles or so to the nearest petrol station. I put in 47 litres (before spilling fuel down the back of the car - so it should now be full).
2 miles further up the road, the car died on me again - this time I was able to re-start before I ground to a halt! Later that day, I went out for a 'test' drive and had no problem whatsover. Was the second cut-out some kind of air lock left over from running a bit too low the first time? OR, is there more to worry about?

Had another ride out last night and again no problems, so I'm putting the engine cut-out's down to gremlin's in the bottom 1/4 of the tank!
