Button on door release.

Had my Chim for 18 months now and thought it about time I found out what the button on the interior door release should actually do.
Mine does bugger all.

Anyone know where this normally fails? I have the push buttons aft of the door.

It wouldn't surprise me if the alarm were at fault. When I bought the Chim the Alarm activated for no apparent reason. After having it checked by CATS in Farnham (great guys) they found the microwave sensor behind the radio and the boot / bonnet sensors looped back to the alarm.

Dodger, I'm also confused when this button should work.

Could someone enlighten us??
