Can someone tell me which donor car the rear brake discs for a '95 Chimaera 4.0L come from? I'm about to remove one and nip down to the local motor factors to see which Sierra/Granada they may be the same as. This is the older style chassis/brakes (Chimaeras used the Griff chassis/brakes from '96 on), but not as 'old' as the early Chimaeras if that makes sense. Obviously Steve has tried to list them all in The Bible, but not the donor car/braking system.

I need to replace them before my next MOT (Inside contact areas not making much contact if you know what I mean and I can feel they aren't as 'sharp' as they used to be).

Ta muchly.

Its all down to the disc and pad combo. I'm sure std TVR pads/discs would last longest, but they may not give the best braking performance. In order to stop quicker something has to 'give' - different compounds/more heat/more wear of pads or discs.

I'm running EBC Greenstuff pads and grooved discs on the front and the discs are wearing as quick as the pads - after 50% pad wear I can feel a definite ridge on the disc edge already. Seem to work a little better than std though with a lot less dust - I guess the discs don't make dust - but the pads do (Not much difference to Mintex 1144 pads though IMO). I've not been on a track since changing the brake fluid for DOT 5.1, this should help too.
