My trusty steed, owned since new with 133k on the clock, is now leaking petrol from the tank. Rimmer brothers can't supply, no-one seems to have one. A company sent up a pattern part allegedly for the Rover45 but it was not the correct fit. Scrappers now have to have their tanks holed, some sort of elf and safety reg? Any ideas? If all else fails i will have the current tank glassed over. Cheers.

Thanks for asking. Will report back at the weekend, as taking old tank up to a specialist in Glasgow...

Well, not best news. Star Radiators say too badly rusted to repair, and shape too intricate (e.g. with indentations for straps) to copy. I will work on them to see if they will produce a more basic shape, which can then be attached to the body with brackets. So much do not want a good car to the scrapper for the sake of a fuel tank.

Very kind offer. But I have found Northern Radiators in Leeds, the tank is with them now and they say it can be blasted, welded then coated inside and out, restored tank will be guaranteed I think they said for 3 years. Pricy but worthwhile to save the car. Hope you're enjoying the 180, a future classic.....

Email, didn't work. Around ¥350. Supercharged ZTT sounds great.
