MG SV-R

R for Reasonable amount of power?

MG SV-R MG Sport & Racing has announced a new version of the wacky MG XPOWER SV. You may have hoped that the SV-R version was the 700bhp monster raving loony MG that has been talked about but sadly it's just a 400bhp version.

The extra performance comes from a 5-0 litre, XPOWER version of the all aluminium, 32 valve, double overhead camshaft V8 engine.

The standard car, despite it's "I'm going to kick your grandmother's walking stick away " looks, comes with a mediocre 320bhp.

The SV-R is fitted with larger diameter Brembo brake discs. New alloy wheels, a rear wing and unique detailing set this car apart. An automatic transmission option will be available.

Every SV is individually built to personal customer order and prices for the entry level SV start from £65,750.00.

Prices for the new SV-R start from £82,950.00

Recently appointed Managing Director of MG Sport & Racing John Parkinson said: "The SV-R is the next step in the evolution of the SV range and represents a tremendous increase in power and performance which makes it a thrill to drive ."

If it had a bit more go and actually went round corners [based on what top gear said about the normal V] I might be able to forgive those hidous 'comic book' looks.....

....but 83 grand for that?! Are they having a laugh?
