Does anyone know of a U.K. source for 13" slicks (SR1, SR4 sizes) that would be be willing to ship to the US? Trying to get them here through normal sources, have them priced out of reach. I might be able to arrange shipping from this side, but need to find a retailer over there.

I just tried a set of 185/60-13R Toyo R888r on the front and they rub too much. I didn't even drive the car. They would require trimming a bunch of bodywork to work.
You can message me if you like,

Thanks in advance,
Graeme

The sizes I am looking for are the 175/535-13 & 205/570-13. What size Avons are the closest? We do have an Avon distributor on this side of the pond, but I have not checked with them yet.

The whole reasoning for asking this question is that Radical U.K. says I have to buy from a US dealer and enjoy the 100% mark-up over the prices I see on the Radical online shop. This is for all parts, not just tires. The quotes I have gotten here are $1900 (usd) and if I could by them directly from the Radical website would be $800-$900 including shipping. That is with the current exchange rate. But I just can't spend that much on a set of tires.

As for the dry sump, Rilltech makes a wet sump pan that they use in the SCCA P1 cars ( http://www.rilltechracing.com/products/index.shtml ) and they are just up the road from me. I have seen it on a supercharged Hayabusa in a Speads P1 car. The data shows the work very well.

The R888r, are 4/10s larger than what is published, and that was a couple of tenths larger than the SR1 tires. They would have have worked very well for a "learning" tire, as they are just a tad softer the the threaded Dunlop, but wider and MUCH cheaper. I won't mind a little trimming of bodywork, but I don't want to reprofile the front sidpods.
That is why I am asking about sizes, I don't want to buy another set, only to find out something won't work.

Thanks,

GraemeD

Matt,
That is very interesting, thanks for sharing. I have spoken with a few dealers, but don't want to publicly dump on them. Maybe I need to reach out to the US rep again.

So far l Iove the SR1, once I get some good tires (sorry, tyres) I can focus on driving it better.

I ended up ordering a set of Pirelli medium slicks in sizes 160/530-13 & 185/570-13. should be a nice intermediate upgrade between the SR1 Cup tires and the SR4 slicks. I will have to change the ride height a little.
We will see how they go!
