Jaguar has been laid up for 4 weeks
Today on its first drive again
I have got the following:
Park brake fault message
Cruise not available

The hand brake is not working now,
I tried disconnecting the battery for a short while, this made no difference.
Performance is not affected.
Whilst the car was parked, the handbrake was left off,
All appeared ok for the first 10 miles of the drive then the park brake fault message popped up and the cruise message soon afterwards.

Can anyone give me some pointers, before I have to head off to the dealers to lose a wad of ££
Thanks in advance

Well that didn't last to long redface(
So I suspect the battery is shot!
As when I put the charger back on it was taking full charge again after going nowhere.
I will charge it so I can move it as the park brake is now locked on.

Battery replaced still no go frown

Fault Code U0128 provided by RAC man (wasn't able to clear it sadly )as they do not have the SW to do so.

Well
I went to the Dealer
to be told that the autologic could not communicate with the EPB module
and I needed a New one and possible a new park brake Motor, as they suspect that the motor had killed the EPB module. all in inc Labour £530.
I also noticed last evening the Negative terminal on the Battery had cracked and was not very good, so I purchased a new fitting today
when I arrived home I replaced the broken connector and then went to move the car and to my surprise!
No warning lights no failure messages and the EPB working fine!!

I called the dealer they reckon it may go again and have kept the parts order going as the motor and module are on back order.

New motor and module arrived as the problem returned after 2 days.
I DC tested new motor it show 1 ohm across power wires red/green
Which was different to the 5.5 across my existing motor.
So I plugged the new motor in and checked to see if fault warnings had cleared on the dash, they had not.
I then fitted the new module with the new motor still plugged in, connected the battery again, and checked the dashboard, all warnings and faults had gone, including on the code reader.so I set about installing the new motor, followed WSM instructions apart I did not disconnect the propshaft, bit of a fiddle but the entire job took 2.5 hrs.
I then did the EPB rest procedure.
Doing the work myself saved £200 in labour costs.
I took a few pics to ensure all went back ok.
This was relatively easy in all honesty.

Thanks to everyone who sent advice/instruction and replied to plea for help.

Regards all Tony
