Hi I have taken delivery of a new f- type which is great

However when I got home I noticed feint scratches on the bodywork in places like someone had cleaned it with a dirty cloth and there was a small scratch about 3 mm wide on one door - not what you would expect from a new car and it looks like it's been cleaned by an amateur

There is also a mark about 10cm wide underneath the gloss paint like a blemish that has been painted over with the lacquer gloss finish so it can't be corrected - looks like a paint defect

The jaguar dealer said they would take it in and get it addressed - I assume they will clean it polish etc and remove the scratches using products I can probably get at home

Dealer is 40 miles away and means they need to collect car and have it for 2 days

Reluctant for someone to take it as I am not sure what will be done to the bodywork to resolve it and I will be without it for 2 days

Anyone got any advice as what I should do - let them collect it and try to fix it / I drop it off to avoid a random driver collecting it and potentially tearing it over a 40 mile journey back to jaguar / try to apply a product that removes the scratches myself ?

Thanks so I should just have it detailed independently or let jaguar do it ?

I will prob just drive it back myself and collect when ready - they will provide a courtesy car

They need it for 2 days so not sure while you wait is an option

Thanks

Took it back to jaguar they removed the small scratch and blemish but feint scuffs remain mainly over driver door

They are going to get it detailed now

Does anyone know any good detailers in south bucks ?

Does the car detail need to be done in a workshop or can a mobile job be done

I have had a quote for someone that will do a 1 stage machine polish and then seal and coat it to get rid of scuffs etc they said it will take 4-5 hours

They are accredited and good reviews on Checkatrade - they said only a ceramic coating would need to be done in a workshop

Does this sound ok ?
