Hello all.

Well. Its looking like I will trade the XKR in for an F type V8R very soon.

But before the deal is done and as I've not driven the F type yet.

How does the ride compare to the XKR? Hard/soft or the same as the XKR?

Cheers
Jon

I have an XKR and also bought an F Type but sold it after 6 months.

The Ftype gave me a bad back and affected the nerves in my legs! I found the inbuilt seat headrests to be too low too.

I much prefer the XKR.

Funnily enough I also have a 370z. The ride is hard but I have absolutely no problems at all driving it. I can drive it all day with no ill effects.

I think with sports cars a lot of it is very personal based upon body shape and size.

I’m 6ft 3ins and of medium build. 50+
Thanks for the info.

This is why I ask the question.

On a test drive, which can be a bit brief, you don't feel the full effects of a long drive.

Hoping to get more opinions on ride and seating.

I'm 6ft 1ins and medium build. Also 50 and a bit or two smile

Hello Jonathan?
I enjoyed every mile of your 370z after I bought it but with great regret I had to move it on a few months ago after it was doing my back no good at all.think it was the lower back of seat digging in and a short under seat but we changed for a Pug RCZ R and the other is a Xk 4.2 with a sports zorst??
Paul
Hi Paul.

Hope you are well.

Sorry to hear you had problems with the 370Z. I to found it a tad uncomfortable on a long journey. Could be seat problems.

Since the Z. I've had a 5.0 XK convertible and a XKR coupe. I was fortunate to find a very low mileage XKR coupe in white. Very comfortable. No leg problems here. I bought the XKR a year ago and as you know, I don't keep my vehicles long.

Been thinking about the F type V8 for a while. I've seen one at a Jag dealer which, if it stacks up I trade in the XKR this weekend.

I was hoping to get some feed back on the ride and seats arrangements in the F type.

Not in the market for a new vehicle before the weekend are you Paul lol.

Cheers
Jonathan

Just put the deposit down on the F type. Going to see it this Sunday.

Using the XKR as part of the deal unless it sells before next week.

Collect it Friday.

I know what you are saying regarding the seat travel but it seems ok for me. We're it lacks in travel the car make up in holding you in the seat. It just feels more planted so more of a comfortable ride.

Anyway. After the test drive on Sunday (25 mins) I thought the seats felt ok for me. Collection day is Friday and the dealership is 1.30 hours away from home. I will let you know. wink

BTW. Its the rear wheel drive, not all wheel smile

More pics to come.

Had no problem with comfort so far. In fact I found it more comfortable than the XKR.

Had a good run on Friday after collection from Bristol. Over a 100 miles and all good so far.

Anyway. The sound, the way it drives and looks makes up for any discomfort biggrinbiggrin

Great looking car, but I thought the R came with side skirts as standard?

Not sure about that. That's how is was. Don't the sills get very dirty?
