F Type SVR depreciation?
Discussion
Hi there
I am very tempted to buy a year or so old F Type SVR, now they are hovering around 75-85k for lightly used 12-18 month examples with 5000-20000 miles.
Now seeing how the V8S depreciated as you can now pick them up for low 40k area, should I be worried about the SVR being worth only say 50k in two years?
Is the SVR limited at all, or is there ample supply in the UK?
Also if I was to buy the SVR do people know cost of;
Service & interval?
Cost to extend warranty?
So those more familar with Jaguar and the SVR models what kind of value would you say it would be worth in another 2-3yr especially if I made sure warranty was extended before expiring and mileage was say kept under 30,000 miles?

I've just got myself an SVR, I got it in what I believe the most desirable spec:
- SVR with fixed carbon spoiiler
- Electric blue colour
- Full carbon design pack
- Carbon roof
- Uprated Meridian
- Winter/visibility pack
Plus some other extras, the only option it does not have is ceramic brakes, but apart from that it is near perfect spec.
My believe is, I paid 81.5k with 17,000 miles, 1 owner, full JLR on time service history. Car was a June 2016 build so it is now 18 months old.
I feel once it hits three years old it will be worth 65-70k, I shall extend the JLR warranty before it runs out to cover any warranty failure and to maintain value.
I feel at 4yr old with 40k miles the car will still be worth circa 60k.
A lot of people tried to scare monger me, saying it will be worth 40k once 4 years old, which is the gamble I've decided to take, I may not even sell this car as its bloody fantastic, so much soul and character which the German rivals lack.
I firmly believe the SVR will hold value better than the regular R AWD and a lot better than the older S/R RWD models, particular convertibles. AWD Coupes are the most desirable and Jaguar have still sold less than 200 SVR in the UK since launch.
As such I think its rarity, desirability will help buck the depreciation trend on the SVR.
Also what happens if 2019 there is no more SVR, or even worse JLR introduce a V8 TT or V6 TT for a new SVR model, we've seen what turbocharged did for values of older NA porsches and BMW's. So if that happens then depreciation won't be that bad at all.
But I got the car because I enjoy it, total riot and makes me feel like a kid.
