XK or XKR... that is the question

Hi folks,

Looking later this year to purchase one of the above. Any thoughts on which to go for? Top budget will be about £15k. Looking at all years from 90's xk8 to the 5.0 cars. Possibly the convertible as it will be a weekend toy to carry us 2 and the dog.

Some good points put across on here, thanks folks.
Think the XK is winning, Mrs C and the dog aren't fans of speed so the extra oomph may well be wasted...

Unless somebody is after a petite brunette and a cavalier king charles, he he he.

Besides, can always buy more motorbikes...!!

So..... neither for the time being. Inheritance will be now almost all spent on a house. But have bought a 2001 4.0 Sovereign instead as a project although needs very little doing. Beautiful car, will do a RR thread when I get some pics and time. Thanks for all the input though folks.

Cheers for the input folks. I still want one, 100% a convertible now though with the X308, but lots going on with properties and btl's so potentially laying £15-£20k on a car wouldn't be prudent right now!

I'd probably be happy with 'just' the N/A and even they make a nice noise
