Someone talk some sense into me please.

I need someone to bang me head with something heavy and solid.
I am thinking of getting rid of the XJ8 sport for an earlier XJR.
The XJ8 is faultless. But it needs more uumph.
If this is a bad idea please let me know, as I am more than happy to keep it, heaven knows I have whittered on about an XJR for long enough.
What sort of XJR Would I get for the XJ8, and what is it worth?
I know I am getting a bit boring now, and sorry for that, but I do not want to go down the M3 route, which is always a nag in the back of my mind.

You're absolutely right Pete, It would be chopped in for as you say, medium mileage XJR-6. I don't particularly want to spend much more.
But then again, if it goes wrong then it drops me in the mire completely. Seeing as I still have a decent warranty with mine then I would be a bit daft.
Test drive time I think, this will settle my curiosity!

Thank you Gavin.
Isn't my suspension similar to the XJR anyway? (Sport variety of x308)
The suspension is marvellous on mine, and it corners very well.
I note your comments about the improved bits and bobs though.
Appreciate your views, thanks.
Mike.

Looks like you've made up your mind Mike if the PH frontpage and the classifieds are anything to go by.
What is the decision?
Not sure yet fourwheel.
The Jag is great, but doesn't have enough poke for me really.
If it doesnt go then I won't be too worried, but I may move it on in the fullness of time.
I do fancy a supercharger though.
