Car choice - TT RS or B7 RS4 or R8 V8?
Discussion
Yes it's a serious question.
Hhmmmm R8.
Getting an R8 would necessitate having a second car - not really an issue but a consideration.
Getting either an RS4 or a TTRS would not. I think I could cope with the TT as a daily driver - biking requirements may be a bit of a push. The RS4 would cover all the bases so to speak. The only issue would be mpg for a daily driver.
The first reply was very helpful.

I'll still have the Beast, turning up for a survey in an R8 doesn't project the right image.
I like to keep my cars for a while. I keep flopping between the three. Oddly enough, from my point of view / how I expect things to go, the TT is the least practical.
I'll get some insurance quotes, they may focus the mind!

Wait for it. Prepare to be amazed;
It's a '99 VW Bora. With an 8v 2.0l n/a engine churning out a rip snorting 120bhp.
You know it be true man.
Bit of a ratter at the moment. Front wing was re-designed by a fellow tenant at work. The rear spoiler needs spaying to match the actual colour as do the Polo wing mirrors.
Still, this year will be the 10th year of ownership and she's never let me down. The only item I've had to buy outside of maintenance items has been a battery. Did a track day at Oulton Park last month and she loved it. Booked another for the 1st of March.
Her current function is to act as Builder's van, business vehicle, bike transporter and Le Mans transport.

Been thinking about this in the quiet moments over the last few days.
I'm struggling to see how I'd get to use an R8 'regularly'. Trip to Le Mans - yes. Track days - yes. Riding trips in the Alps / Europe - no space for the bikes and kit. I don't have time for 'showing off' at social events as I don't go to any . Still want one though. There's an early silver one in the Audi dealership at the end of my road which is loverly.
RS4 (either saloon or avant) would do everything.
TTRS would do everything until spawn appear (I refuse to struggle with getting child seats in the back of a 2/3-door car). 5-cylinder sound reminds me of the 80s Quattro and Coupes (my dad had one and it sounded great).
Regardless of which, I would most likely keep the Beast for builder's van duties - had 20 bags of sand in it a few months back.

How life ticks by!
Right, quick update. Ended up getting a Touran diesel for biking / building duties. The Beast is having a 'refresh' and is going to be dedicated business use.
As for the 'fun' one. Still undecided. R8 V10 manual still up there but a couple of TVR's have raised their heads.
Insurance seems to be the ball ache. R8, no problem. 911, no problem. TVR, err, have you got experience of such a car???? Weird. TGhe quotes I have got for a TVR are twice that of an R8 V10.
Anywho, given the spare time I have at the moment it may well be December before I get a toy sorted. Just in time for the snow and ice
