Hi all, have been an avid reader of this forum but never posted but needing some views/advice. Have just posted on rs246 but wanted to get as much info as possible so sorry if this has been covered before. My RS5 is due it's 2 year service and I have a couple of questions.

1. How much should the service be? My audi dealer is quoting c.£490
2. Front end of gearbox oil change - I have a conflict of opinion from 2 dealers with one saying this needs to be done at the 2 year service and one saying it is 20k miles and so not needed yet (as mileage based and mine has done 15k) - does anyone know?! Also been quoted a total service cost of c.£840 including this - does this seem about right?

Understand the back end of the gearbox needs doing at 40k! Goodness knows how much that is!

In all honesty was quite shocked about something needing doing on the gearbox so early - moved from an out of warranty RS4 into a newer in warranty RS5 to reduce maintenance costs but it's cheaper to service the RS4!

Any thoughts appreciated

I was a bit hesitant getting it due to a lot of articles saying it wasn't as good as the RS4 B7. I was coming from an RS4 B7 avant and it was a car I had always wanted from the day it launched - i'd finally got one but it was now 5 years old and was concerned about maintenance costs plus i'd come across an RS5 with all the right spec. Hard to find one with buckets and all the right bits - so much is extra on an RS nowadays that use to be standard!

overall the RS5 is superb, the gearbox and speed of change is unbelievable and it feels quicker than my RS4 did. the arches aren't as flared in my opinion and so it looks more like an s-line than the rs4 did but the huge rotor alloys and the way they scoop in look awesome. overall feels more up to date as b7 is finally showing it's age, especially inside. bought mine a year old for a significant reduction on the 70k list price it had. better alternatives for brand new money but an awesome car second hand and not many cars on the road that are faster
