Charcoal canister and canister purge valve?!

Hi all - I have a 2007 2.0 Golf GTI - the engine warning light is on, I've taken to the car to a VW dealer and they have investigated the issue - they say the charcoal canister and canister purge valve need replacing. Having never heard of these two parts I asked my local garage, they said they have never replaced these parts on a Golf - has anyone else had this issue and subsequent replacement?

I'm sure even I can work it out then! Would you able to point me the right direction of where to buy the replacement parts from?
