VW TDI Emissions Software 'Fix'
Discussion
I'm so excited, I've just had a message from my dealer asking to call him about fixing my foul and filthy planetkiller 2.0 TDi Passat, after which it will no doubt emit sweet vapours and fragrances.
So, has anyone actually had this done and what sort of performance hit can I expect, or will I probably not notice it in a six-year-old average-mileage commuter special.

But it wont cause rattles at low rpm...
A lot of Tiguan owners are reporting rattles at low RPM. I think they're on the 3rd version of the update now.I've got my letter in, assuring me that independent experts confirm there will be no loss of power, performance, economy, yadda yadda. All with that imposing DVSA logo (is a heraldic device a logo?). However, there's no mention of the fix on DVSA's web site that I can find, so is it an official recall or not?
Regardless of all that, there's no offer of whisky or weathergirls, so I ain't biting.

I never had the fix done and I service the car myself .It runs like a watch 67k done 12 plate Fabia 1.6 . Oil change every 9k oil filter every 4.5k, fuel filter every service air filter every second service. Cambelt still original so almost 8yrs apparently it was only every 125k in the design stage .Can anyone elaborate. No problems so far no egr or dpf issues. Drive it hard .I add dipetane and 2 ehn to the diesel just what my Dad has Alway's added to his diesel's seems to do no harm and isn't expensive. Next service I might change heater plugs just to make sure start up doesn't sludge egr valve.
It's that old story. Manufacturer announces cambelt will last 125k. Dealers start reporting rash of cambelts breaking at 64k. Manufacturer rapidly revises cambelt prognostication.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
