I am keen to hear from anyone who has actual experience of swapping from the OEM Bridgestone's to something else please. What did you go for? My car is on 18" wheels.

I appreciate this is a powerful front drive car so there will always be some traction issues, but have you noticed any real improvements, traction, ride, etc?

Thanks

Bumping this in case the OP has bitten the bullet and can update?

Bridgestone fronts on ours are now down to less than 3mm after 16k miles, so planning to swap the existing rears to the front to finish them off and fit a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 4s to the rear as soon as the weather gets a bit iffy. Grip at the moment is acceptable compared to what the 20s on previous cars have been like when worn to 3mm.
Hi, thanks for the prompt. I have decided to wait for a set of winter tyres. I found the bridgestones fine over the summer ( ok a little slippery when we had rain).

Agreed with others that Michelin Pilot Sport 4 seem to be the current best tyre for the car.

Bump.

How are you getting on with the Dunlop’s? They have good reviews from auto express and evo.

My time has come to change from the Bridgestone and my choice are:

good year eagle F1 3
Michelin PS4
Dunlop sport Maxx rt2

Priority is a more balanced ride, still good fun but softer and better traction than the bridge stones.

Help please!

So update...

I fitted Michelin PS4 last week and initial thoughts are:
Dry grip is fantastic. No longer spins wheels in first or second. Steering feel is so much better.
Noise is the same as the Bridgestones.
Ride is the same. Shame as hoping for a slightly softer ride over poor roads.
I will report back on wet grip when it rains.
