Hi All

I'm hoping someone might be able to give me an idea of what the problem might be with my 2007 VW Golf 1.6 FSI.

On Tuesday, I was driving it and was stopped in traffic. As the traffic started to move and i tried to drive off, the whole thing just shut down. Car wouldn't start, no lights on the dash, it just died.

Got roadside assistance out who tested the battery, fuses, tried a new battery, tried to jump start it from his van but nothing worked. It is completely dead! He said he has never seen anything like this before.

When you turn the key in the ignition, there are no lights on the dash and just silence, not even a clicking as it tries to start. The electrics work though - radio, indicators, lights, windows, etc.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Has this happened to anyone else? The AA guy suggested getting an auto-electrician out to take a look.

Thanks

After-market immobilizer/alarm?
No, everything is standard. No-one can seem to figure out what the issue is! frown
