There have been some very competitive lease deals on offer for the new VW Arteon in the past few days.

I've just placed an order for one (2.0 TSI R Line DSG in pure white), suspect I'm not the only one.

Thought I'd start a thread for any Arteon discussions....

I’ve only seen one on the road on the a1/M1 link at Leeds a couple of weeks ago - looked gorgeous in the sunshine in the gold / orange colour I believe it was the 2.0 TSI R Line DSG as well
I think that colour is called Turmeric. I've ordered white, as didn't fancy the standard grey. Some of the metallics look good, but it's hard to justify the extra expense on a lease car.

Urano Grey or metallic?

I've ordered white, but I'm keen to see Urano Grey in the flesh, as I may change my mind and save £300. It actually looks quite good in this photo, but I'd like to see it with my own eyes before I risk it.

Adding the standard spec items interior wise to a comparable A5 adds at least 1.5k to the cost (virtual cockpit, nappa leather etc.) Given the very competitive lease costs on these compared to an Audi (albeit there isn’t a exact direct comparable to a 190 petrol ) it works out roughly £150 per month extra, plus about 1k extra deposit to have an Audi instead. That's before adding matching size wheels or other items.

Like for like options for Audi are also more expensive which is really, really cheeky, seeing as it’s possibly the same part number!

For example rear view camera VW £315, Audi £450.

Just illustrates what a good deal this is really.
It definitely costs a lot more to spec up a A5 Sportback to match an Rline, 19" alloys £900, leather £800, privacy glass £375, tech pack for the virtual dash £1400, folding mirrors £225, flat bottom wheel £100, adaptive cruise/collision detection £1250...the list goes on. Also you get DSG on these deals, you have to get the £41k Quattro A5 190 TSi to get an auto gearbox.

I used Fleet Prices on a 3+23 at £280 for 10k pa (RLine DSG). I do 18k pa, but it worked out cheaper to pay the excess rate that to pay for the mileage up front. CVL's price is similar, but with £2400 deposit and smaller payments thereafter. I think they do 5k pa deal which is quite competitive though.

Just googled CVL leasing - loads of different websites come up, commercial leasing etc. Do you mean www.cvsl.co.uk?

Tried to get my dealer to match yours, no avail. Would you mind sharing where from? Works out 700 cheaper than mine over the 2yr lease which would pay for a few months worth of fuel!
Do you have an email address where I can send you the details privately?
Can't you just post it?

I suspect most on lease deals will have gone for Urano Grey. I think Pyrite Silver looks pretty good though.

Anyone got a pic of the r line in urano grey, like a on the road pic, non of those photoshopped images.

Anyone ordered the urano? If so at what cost?
Have a look at page one of this thread - I've posted links to a number of Arteon road tests, including one with lots of pictures of an Urano Grey car. This is the only 'free' colour.

Hi guys, so I could do with your opinions!

I missed the Arteon deal but my broker has got me a R line 190ps tsi DSG for £289 a month with an initial payment around £1700. That's 10k miles over 2 yrs.

Now the reason I placed the order is because I have been waiting on an Audi A4 Avant black edition 1.4T manual since July but still have no build date because of 19" rotor wheel issues.
That deal came in with again £1700 initial but £247 a month at 10k over 2yrs.

My broker has my name against both cars so I can basically pick which one I want, both cars have no extras, the Audi is black the Arteon Urano grey.

What would you guys pick? the build time will most likely be Feb or march next year for both vehicles.
I guess it depends how much you value the auto gearbox? Normally these are pricey options, but the good deals on Arteons have been for the DSG model, which is good news. But if you have no preference, the Audi may appeal - it’s more prestigious in many people’s eyes, and is pretty well equipped in Black Edition spec, though not as comprehensively spec’d as the Arteon. But it is a bit cheaper too. Some also say the 1.4TFSI engine is a bit sluggish, is strong performance important to you?

Have a look in the back - does it have 3 Zone air-con? (it should, but some seem to have been wrongly built it would appear).

Seems to have it. Press the button on the dial of the climate control and it comes up with a diagram of the inside of the car and allows individual temps to be set for all 4 seats.
I believe that there should be a control in the rear for the rear seat passengers to do this for themselves, there's a picture of the rear showing this in the brochure, and it's a typical in other cars with 3 zone climate, including the current Passat.

Hi all, does anyone know anymore about the missing Tri-Climate Control rear controller?

I have the Elegance in Urano Grey with the Amari (or similar word) black wheels. Looks super smart. Strange that the car's spec is missing something so obvious. I've called it in and VW are going to get back to me.

Cheers.
I logged a call too, waiting for confirmation. I suspect it's a supply chain problem, and they've fitted a bog-standard Passat item in order to keep the production line running,

A quick scan of autotrader. On photos that show the back part of the console on 2.0 R line’s all you can see are vents with a blanking plate underneath. I couldn’t see a single car with controls.
I know, but this doesn't mean there's not an issue though; when the Mk7.5 Golf GTi came out, the first batch for the UK was built without standard equipment fog lights, something similar could have happened here.
