I Pod interface and SD cards

Hi Guys
Need too pick your brains, been doing some research but as usual just get lots off conflicting info. I would like to connect an I pod interface to my head unit (B7 RS4) I have the RNSE MMI 2007 with 6 disc changer in the glove box. Not to worried about Bluetooth just would like to connect IPod and be able to control it from the head unit. Also what is the max SD card size? I have tried a 4 GB but it just keeps saying loading but nothing happens. Would like to keep it just plug and play so I can install it myself.
