Evening,

My wife has always wanted one so I saw a minter for sale at the NEC Classic today & bought it (well, put down £1k).

54 plate, 27k miles, 2 owners, FASH, full size alloy spare & so on. 3.2V6, Quattro, DSG.

Strong money at £9995 but looks new. It’ll be a toy car for her. I think / hope she’ll love it smile

£10k is quite a chunk for that! Lovely car though.
Indeed. I bought it on condition & history. Slightly mad but she’ll love it.

Has to be a future classic too.

Strong money but looks a lovely example. A fair price though if you're planning on keeping it. Loved my 225 TT and loved my Mk2 3.2.
Thanks. It’ll be an occasional use car for her. It’s nice for sure.

The car was delivered yesterday. All is good.

I think the wife likes it. It’s not really for me other than the power & sound.

Feels quite ponderous to drive, more so than my previous 3.2Q4 Brera.

Looks great though, the interior is nice (really wide seat bases) & it’s practical for 2 people with luggage.

Give me my Abarth 595 Competizione any daysmile

Having spent a few hours in it, added 10psi to each tyre (!!!!), it’s doing well.

The only things to note are it picked up some minor transporter damage since the NEC & the fact that the paddles don’t work, no matter what mode the stick is in.

Took it on some of our favourite roads this morning, wife driving, BIG smile smile

That’s all that matters to me.

Sorry for the incredibly tardy reply & thank you.

They seem to work well now which kind of confirms the theory that they just needed using.

My wife seems to really like it so mission accomplished there.

It’s now residing in our dehumidified garage with a CTEK keeping it alive, in between weekend drives.

Evening all,

We’ve not done a great deal of mileage since having it (250 miles) but we are enjoying it & are thinking this car will do the NC500 in April, especially as Neath to Inverness is a mega long way & the TT is very comfortablesmile

We’ve bought a genuine boot liner & an OEM+ phone holder which sits between the central air vents.

I’m off to the Essen show later this week so I’ve got my eye on some original cup holders and a few other bits.

The paddle shifters remain intermittent but now work most of the time. Need to get them looked at though.

I’m also seriously considering a Revo remap on the engine & especially the DSG ECU.

I understand that this company are well respected in VAG circles but I’m willing to be told otherwise. Any experiences?

Not been brave enough to try launch control yet....lol

Cheers,

Simon

Revo are OK as generic remaps go, but the gains on a NA engine are rarely worth the bother. Generally the likes of MRC are better regarded for mapping as they'll map your individual vehicle on a rolling road. Worth a call - not sure how much they do for the NA V6.
Thanks. Where are MRC based? I’m in South Wales so the beauty of the Revo option is 2 local places can do it.

I’m more interested in speeding up the DSG but additional engine flexibility etc would be welcomed.

It’s hardly a slow car smile

Just to update this thread.

In readiness for doing the NC500 (2k+ miles, setting out from South Wales on Wednesday), I had the Revo Stage 1 engine & stage 2 DSG software applied last Friday.

It was done at Indigo-GT in Ystrad Munych in conjunction with a rolling road session.

The car made 226 pre map (well down on standard) & 247 after.

Torque went up from 233 to 251 with it coming in much lower down.

The tuner (who is familiar with the 3.2 lump) reckons the low mileage and type / lack of use accounts for the lower figures but also said that decent fuel & more regular / Italian tune up use with help it get better.

It certainly feels a lot more willing & grunty but the biggest improvement is the gearbox.

In manual mode, a much smoother take off with really quick / sharp changes.

In normal drive, feels smoother & a significantly keener.

Not tried Sport or the supposedly improved launch control, nor am I likely too.

At £770, crazy money but so far, very pleased smile

Will report back with further thoughts after the NC500.
