i've noticed a few really low mileage Clubsport Edition 40's for sale mostly seem to be up north... less that 100 miles on the clock, anyone know the story with these?

are they euro/grey imports?

for example:

https://www.franktgreenwaycars.co.uk/used-cars/vol...

and this one:

http://www.greenacrehonda.com/approved-used/volksw...

2 year manufacturer warranty on the first one? there are a few others, all seem to be "fully loaded"

actually looking at the second one it does say import in the ad, what are the implications of having a imported car? i'm assuming 2 year warranty only then, can this be extended? just checked insurance, being an import doesn't seem to make any real difference

Euro imports, that Honda dealer had about 4 or 5 in stock when i went to view before christmas, all "67" pre-reg, 3 or 5 door, black or white.....not sure the sat nav had correct UK map disc installed but apart from that nothing wrong with them except the 2 year warranty......also could not get any further discount from the advertised price.
thanks, yeah i spoke to them, they are were all imported from Ireland, they recon they had 25 and that's the last one "apparently".... 21 month warranty remaining, good point on the disc, didn't think of that!

assuming you didn't buy one then?

interesting, i was looking for a second had Golf R, bit at £20k with a bit of man maths and and drive the deal discount it seems better "value" to buy a new one... which got me looking at nearly new cars, which don't actually seem cheaper than a DTD discounted new car either! these few clubsports stick out as the best of both worlds, nearly new and a decent discount and physically available... just am shame there all so far away from me?

whats specs your R? 3door, lapiz, Dsg, heated seats by any chance?

Hi mate

With regards to the one at Honda. Im currently chatting to a sales chap there. The car is about 150miles away from me. TBH the import part really puts me off. Its a non UK car and ill put money on it if you kept it until the warranty runs out it'll be worth a good bit less than a true UK car. Looks a great spec. On a plus note you can get a new R with same spec for £29k and full three years warranty if you have an old diesel trade-in (which I do) . Thats where I'm at. I am tempted but import part is a non starter for me.
yeah if i had a diesel to trade in it would be a no brainer on a £29k new R!

i think at £25k they would be cheap enough to dismiss the import/reduced warranty

It's one of the 5-door ones that were for sale at the Honda main dealer.

Only had it 2 days and driven approx. 50 miles so far, first impressions are that in everyday real world driving it doesn' t feel much slower than my (standard) Golf R. Obviously doing a full launch control start away from the lights on a greasy, wet surface will be a different story but how often do you really do that? It's also better specced than my R, the Recaro CS bucket seats and suede steering wheel feel really good in your hands.

I've promised the wife this one's staying standard and I won't spend any money on it.......although they respond so well to a simple stage 1 remap. I may or may not also be planning to stick on a big brake kit and drive over to the Nurburgring in the summer to see if I can get anywhere near the Clubsport S lap time. biggrin

No. None of them do. you don't need them. Had front parking sensors on my R but very rarely paid any attention to them.

The rear sensors + camera are useful though, especially when I'm reversing into the garage.

Fitted a pedal box this week & car is going for a stage 1 map soon.....hopefully wifey won't find out. biggrin
lol my missus needs them trust me! yeah i didn't think they did, despite it saying they have front and rear park in the adverts
