So i finally after months of searching for the right spec finally found one and picked her up from Audi yesterday.

I did toy with the idea of a mk2 TTRS but I am somewhat future proofing myself as I like tech and it is nice to be in something with the latest tech.

Spec wise has everything, well most things.
20in wheels with red calipers
Privacy glass
Matrix headlights with front and rear dynamics
Carbon fibre pack
Interior lighting pack
MMI sat nav with connect
Front and rear parking sensors with cam
Glacier white with Murillo brown (wasn't too sure about it but when I saw it, it really works)
S/sports seats fully electric
Electric folding mirrors
Advanced key

And few other things.

Few questions.

My passenger side mirrors do not tilt when in reverse, I have tried setting them but just does not work.
Anyone got any ideas?
I had it previously in my S4 but my last TTS mk2 and this one just doesn't seem to have it.
Would of thought it would come with it seeing as they were fully electric.

My phone settings, a few options are greyed out saying my phone doesn't support it like (ring tone, ringing volume etc)
So when someone calls it just comes up on my cockpit but doesn't ring.

Any ideas?
it is google pixel, happened in my last car too.

Oh and sounds stupid but how do I open the boot without turning the ignition off?

Any other hints and tips for the virtual cockpit or just the car in general.

Thanks

Indeed - select reverse, then turn the knob to the "L" position, and move the wing mirror to what you want for reversing.
Keep the knob in "L" position and drive away, and the wing mirror should return to normal driving position.
Next time you select reverse, it should automatically move to your reversing angle.

Congrats on the new car btw - I got myself a Mk3 TTS a few months back thumbup
Thanks mate, actually have tried this and nothing. Just stays dipped. I must be missing something. Does your have this?

Congrats on yours too, any pics?

Yep, mine has the auto-tilt passenger mirror - this is the setting it needs to stay in to work (the ~11 oclock position) in case you were putting it in the 8 oclock position) :

Mine is Sepang Blue, had done 12k miles when I got it in March, and has all the toys i'd want/need - the LED matrix lights, F&R sensors, SatNav, and the upgraded HiFi and Aircon. Also has optional "blade" alloys (still 19").
Do wish I had red callipers instead of black, but c'est la vie!
Picking it up at Audi:

Last week on a jaunt to the Grim North:

Wheres your pics then???
Very nice.
I put mine in that position too, still doesn't work. Not sure what is going on. I should have it. Any ideas what it could be?
I put it in that position, select R, put mirror in position, select drive and move and it just stays there dipped doesn't go back to neutral.

Too be honest the 20s really make the ride a bit too hard. But also holds the road well though. Very well.

Thanks daddy cool. I have done all of that so maybe trip into the dealers. Got Audi warranty anyway so that should cover it.

What did you think of the 20s, ride is harsh isn't it?
Originally I wouldn't of entertained the Murillo brown interior but when I saw it, it just works and works very well.
If anyone wants to see the interior and carbon fibre pack I'll see what I can do.

Actually really annoyed about my non tilting mirror lol.

Great car though, lot more refined then the MK2 TTS.

Just picked something up. I have been adjusting it when the car is in R. Maybe I should do it when the car is in P and that will set it?

Assuming you mean 'how can I open the boot for someone without getting out of the car' press the door unlock if the car has travelled over 10mph and autolocked the doors then just press the key fob boot release or get them to operate the boot lid handle. There is no dash button to electrically open the boot on the mk3 unfortunately.

Mine has folding mirrors and dips fine so your NS mirror should dip in reverse, will the mirror motor allow you to position the glass all the way to the bottom, might be stuck?

I know you can make non folding mirrors do so with a coding tweak. Theres a few other functions you can change with obdeleven or vag-com, high beam assist, read speed signs, audible lock/unlock etc.

Plenty of info here https://www.ttforum.co.uk/forum
Yes that's what I meant, still getting a bit confused from the MK2 tts where it had a button to release the boot. Makes sense what you said.

Yep it fully works just doesn't tilt. it's suppose to so I'll just try a few more things then call Audi and get them to recode what they need to.

@ Nickbrap - Thanks, yea i really didn't want black interior and wasn't too sold on the red and wasn't even sure about the murillo brown until I saw it.
And every single person that has seen it since says it is a great interior. I'll get some snaps up later on or tomorrow.
It actually isn't that dark, pretty light actually and the carbon pack with it just adds more. And yes the same engine as the S3.

@ Zanister - I say it is harsh but just wondering if that is because I went from 18s to 20s. It isn't undrivable or anything probably just different to what I am use to plus been reading tons of negative things about 20s on TTS so maybe it is a bit of that too regardless they look great and glad I got the 20s.

@ Viao - I have tried tons of combinations but Audi just said bring it in and they'll have a look. Couldn't do it today though so told them I will try and get up to them when I can.

Any other hints and tips?
Already set the steering wheel star button for the drive select.

Anyone use Audi connect, what method of connection do you use? Thinking of just getting a cheap data sim and using that

Hey Mike, I went from an F10 M5 CP to the TTS (both on 20 inch alloys) and then had a new S line TT loaner on 20" alloys too and the TTS with mag ride was easily the harshest by far.

After the top mounts were done it went to being the most comfortable ride of those 3 in comfort mode! Worth checking as you never know and i only questioned it after my time in the standard TT on 20s.

Glad you're enjoying the TTS by the way and you defo have the best looking alloys for that car but then I could be biased as mine had the same alloys! Haha
Okay I'll definitely look into it thanks.

The alloys I have on the car are no longer an option are they?
Glad I got them, wasn't too keen at first but really happy with the choice.

Also got a data only son to enjoy Audi connect. Not sure if Audi connect is worth it but I like tech so why not. Just another bit of tech I can play with.
8gb for £11 a month.

I'll put pics up of the interior next

Anyone wants to see any more of the inside let me know.
The seats are the fully electric super sports with bolster support but don't have the S logo on it.

Really happy I opted for this interior over the black or red.
Really like this colour. Almost let this car slip because didn't think I would like it so almost didn't go and view it.

Re mirrors. Step 1 Turn to L hand mirror setting as above. 2. Select reverse - wait 5 secs then fine tune the mirror to the ideal reverse position. 3. Pull forward for 50 yds then stop and adjust mirror to normal drive position and set memory button. Repeat to test ??
Hey mate, where is the memory button?

Yes, it seems an odd thing to drop. Have you noticed how flimsy the Mk3 filler cap is?

Nice looking car, that's a nice colour. You're right about the brake calipers though wink Excuse rubbish pics. I'll get some more done when it's been properly detailed.

Yes bit of an odd thing to drop but suppose it can still be opened.

Haven't noticed how flimsy the cap is too, I'll take a look at it.

Your car looks very nice, that combo works so well. what are the options on it?

I need to find a decent detailer actually.

It was an ex demo, sales manager's car. I'm not entirely sure what's standard, but it's a Black Edition, which I think includes de-chroming, Comfort and Sound package, including B&O, black mirrors and extended privacy glass.

There's also:

Matrix Lights,
High Beam Assist,
Nav etc,
Auto air con,
Heated Seats,
Mag ride with individual config,
Folding door mirrors,
Parking sensors front and rear with display,
Cruise Control,
Adj Lumbar Support,
Side Assist (blind spot indicator),
Traffic Sign Recognition,
Extended interior lights (i think)
Boot liner,
Audi puddle lights,

I added the last 2 and mean to get the better mats sometime. I'd like it if it had 2 more clyinders, and decent reversing lights biggrin

I wasn't sure about the red, but it's less bright than you'd think. The IT interface, particularly via the MFSW is a great improvement on the BMW. Ride on 19s is OK and I think I'll try F1 Asy's next time, which worked well on the Mk2.

I hope you're as pleased with yours as I am mine.
Really really nice spec that is.
Yours has 2 things mine doesn't but being an ex demo car doesn't surprise me.
I don't have cruise control which I can live without but I have to say side assist is almost a must (i don't have). I would of been hard pushed to find what I wanted plus side assist but that is one option that should be standard imo. The blind spot on these are worse then the mk2.

The first one I went to see what pretty much like yours just less spec but it was black with red interior. The red interior isn't that bad actually so I know what you mean when you say it is less bright then you would think. Same with my murillo brown interior, it is a lot lighter then you think,
The ride on 20s is hard and even more noticeable with the wonderful quality of London roads smile

Yes, the side assist works pretty well. If I used M Ways etc more it'd prove its worth I imagine. I wasn't keen on the red until I saw it. People I've shown the car to it seems to have the greatest wow factor. I must get the better mats though, mine are the ribbed brush type.

I'm surprised Audi don't offer electric seats. Not only for the memory function but you can make smaller adjustments. It could be that manual seats can go lower, without the motor etc below them. Or money. Seats which slide forward when you need to access the back would be helpful too.

All in all, not much to complain about tho. I find the IT a lot easier to use than BMW's, which was painful.
I have fully electric seats in mine. And it has the lumber plus an extra button off the lumber circle that adjust the side bolsters.

I'll post a pic if I can

Here it is. That little notch thing sticking out of the lumber wheel is the side bolster adjustment

  • That pic was taken a few days at Audi before I picked her up so it wasn't valeted or anything that is why it looks a bit messy etc.

I was prepared to not have them but just so happened this car came with it, there isn't a memory function but the speed they move is good and the bolster side adjustment is great

Yes I think you are right as my bolsters automatically get into position when I start or loosen when I get turn off the car.
