VW Passat CC 2009 Steering Column Lock Defective Message
Discussion
Hi my 2009 VW Passat CC (2.0TDi 140) DSG has been having issues lately and I would really appreciate if anybody can advise or help me as this problem is getting worse and worse.
The car sometimes will start and then turn straight back off. It happens 4 or 5 times in a row and then finally starts, now this problems is happening more often and from happening once a week its now happening every time I try to start it. On some occasions it will not let me even try to start it and a warning message pops up with a flashing red steering wheel light with 'Steering Column Lock Defective'. I have been to a garage to diagnose the problem and it came up with immobiliser fault and steering column lock fault but for some reason he recommended me to firstly change the starter motor and that it could also be a problem with the flywheel?
Please can somebody recommend me a solution.
I am located in Bolton, Thanks.
