Audi A6 3.0tdi stalling and yellow plug light flashing

My audi a6 3.0tdi 2004 (automatic) has resountly started stalling when for example coming to a stop at a red light. The car seems to stall 80% of the time i for example stop at any time at a light or where ever i stop. Right afther it stalls the yellow plug light starts flashing. Switch the car of and then on and everything seem perfect again until i stop. Any ideas? My mechanic sad it is problably some sort of sensor but hes not sure. If anybody has had this same problem would be great to hear how you fixed it and what coused the problem.
