So on saturday whilst driving at about 20 mph, my parking sensor screen came up, all the readouts went nuts, went off again and I lost nav, GPS, carplay, compass, bluetooth, WLAN and probably some other stuff too. Even the little direction indicator on the instrument panel has disappeared (unless I switch the radio off, in which case it comes back but says North permanently!!)

It doesn't even recognise that the bluetooth module is there, I can't even pair or unpair a phone.

Does anyone have any ideas please? Car is 5 months out of warranty. Have done a factory reset and reboot of the unit but its made no difference.

Sadly not. It runs off a built in HDD where the nav data is preloaded from the factory.

Well mine was cured with a software update, but my car is out of warranty so it cost me £60. I’m not particularly happy about this because IMO the software should last the life of the car or updates should be provided FOC. If it was a hard part that wears I could understand it, but this seems off to me. Microsoft still provide updates for my Xbox 360 FFS.....

I wonder if it had any updates whilst still under warranty that would have prevented this, or if at its year 3 service the infotainment unit was ignored...
Well as it had one when it was in 3 months ago having the DSG service I would suggest not.... Assuming they did it and not just told me they did?!?
