Rear Toe Adjuster Problem
Discussion
Hi all
Could do with some advice on what to do with this issue. As part of my Griffith's rebuild, I purchased new lower rear wishbones and the complete adjuster assembly from TVR-Parts. The problem I've got is that neither side wishbones want to take the threaded adjuster beyond roughly half way in. They get stiffer and stiffer until they get stuck. Issues with tracking aside, the toe out is so bad that I can't even align the top wishbone with the upright. I have tried removing the old threaded adjuster from the old wishbone, cleaning it up and trying that - same issue. The problem must be with the wishbone thread? I have asked TVR-Parts for a way forward but they have typically (in my experience - and not the first time) ignored my emails. I can't help think I should just parcel the wishbones back up and demand a refund. I have tried patiently 'chasing the thread' back and forth, but it doesn't seem to help and just causes the adjuster to get really quite warm.
TIA for suggestions

Looking at this thread helps with that adjuster size:

I'll see what I can find for sale.

I've got the correct size tap you can borrow, but must have it back when you're done.
PM your address and I'll pop it in a Jiffy bag for you
Lordy, you folks are the best! Thanks MisterT, I'm truly humbled by this. Let me get back to you as (being the impetuous, delay-phobic person I am) I have ordered what I hope will do the trick via Amazon, but if that proves not to be the case then I will take you up on your offer! I've got the correct size tap you can borrow, but must have it back when you're done.
