Hi,

Do any of you peeps have photos of the flexible ducting when the dashbnoard has been removed?

When I shone a torch into the LH outlet, I could see wiring and in the RH outlet a flexible duct. Removing the LH vent I found the Alloy end and ducting wedged behind the radio. So out with the radio and moved the ducting so the outlet could be pushed back in and coupled up, sorted.
The flex' ducting on the RH outlet however was only about 3" long and I can't see where the rest of the ducting goes to. I beleve from researching PH it's fed from the RH side somewhere. This is why I'm asking for more photo evidence before removing my dashboard.
Good news is the blower motor works, up and down cabin direction works and air comes out of the driver and pass' knee vents.

When I've sorted this I can move on to the heating on and off control.laugh

Cheers

Hi Steve,
A photo(s) will help a lot. When you say " back into a hole in the plenum" is the plenum part of the front body behind the dash and beneath the screen and screen vents? If so when searching I found a photo showing some black flex' ducting disappearing into the GRP. The piece of ducting I found gaffer taped to the back of the vent I don't think would reach that far.

I have quite a bit of heating and ventilation fittings in a box from my Chim' because the PO removed it all.

Sending you a PM.

Cheers
Lance

It would appear that i'm missing some elbows then for the RH vent, I can see them in Griffers photo and BD's message.

I'll get the snake Cam' in there and have a good look round.

Poked my snake cam through the dash connected to my phone, without the RH vent in place and can see virtually directly in front past the wiring a black hole, which I presume is where the air should be coming from. Took a video but can't work out how to transfer or send the video to my PC to post on here, never mind.
So it would appear my RH vent don't need any elbows just a little bit longer flexible ducting to connect up with the plenum.

Might have to remove the dash anyway 'cause there are a couple of gauges not lighting up.

BTW Duncan mine was registered 07/02/1992 so DOM would have been earlier........yes?

Hi MV8,
This is the photo Griffer sent me, not quite the same on mine but....

The connections to the vents can be seen covered in black insulation tape. The vents push into them.
If the image is enlarged, there can be seen a grey elbow attached to the RH vent, this would appear to be an household plumbing item. At present my RH vent is not connected to anything. The LH vent ducting was all there but had come off the vent.

My blower motor is in the front wing and is working.

All good stuff, thanks.

When I get my dash facia off I'll take some photos, but at the mo I think my RH vent duct goes straight into the screen plenum. Question on this, apart from the fixings above the steering column, mine appears unsecured at the LH side, should there be a wing nut somewhere near here, if so where?

Anyway discovered the motor assembly is missing from my heater control valve (HCV) so I've moved the lever right down, I think this is the off position = sunny day out only setting.biglaugh
A drive will tell but it's chilly this morning

Cheers

Had another play, made a juction box out of plastic to replace the missing alloy one that the vent pushes into and I can now see that I will need a couple of 90 deg' elbows as you learned peeps keep telling me with words and photos.bow

Thanks.

Some photos showing the right hand ducting I saw on a precat Resto at Central. I also took a photo where the assembly is pushed into the screen plenum without any stuff in front of it but can't find so here is a substitute.

Unsure if it is original but does the job.
