Serpentine ancillaries
Discussion
Hi all,
I’ve recently noticed a whining coming from the pulley located behind the swirl pot, shown in the picture below. My car is non-PAS, but I believe this would normally be the location of the PAS pump for a car with assisted steering.
I’m assuming the bearings are going, but I’m struggling to identify replacement parts on the usual TVR sites. I’ve seen plenty of PAS pumps, but nothing that states specifically that it’s for an unassisted car. Would the pulley for a non-PAS car be sold as a complete unit (pulley wheel and mounting bracket) or as individual components?
I’d appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of this part(s)/part numbers, thanks.

Are you sure that it's the bearing that is noisy.
Thanks Alex, I’m pretty sure it’s the bearing. I sprayed some WD40 on the shaft between the pulley and bracket while the engine was running. Within seconds the whining ceased. Thanks also for the link, they make it clear that the idler pulley is no longer available as a complete unit. As you say, as bit pricey though!
