Hi all,

I'm hoping for a bit of guidance please.

About 7yrs ago, I had a new screen fitted to my Grif. I was aware that fitting a new screen can be tricky and it is important to get the fit right and so I used a company where the fitters had experience with a TVR. TBH, I can't remember much of the details because I haven't used the car for years (using it this year again finally!), so I can't remember if they fitted the screen with the roof in place or not (or if that is even possible or the best way to do it?).

Anyway, to the query: My roof doesn't seem to fit right against the screen. On one side, the Aluminum strut won't snap straight to lock the roof in place and I don't want to force it for fear of cracking the screen. The door frame / window isn't water tight either.

Does this sound like a classic case of the screen being fitted incorrectly? If so, I will go ahead and have it removed and refitted but I wanted to check here first for some of your thoughts.

Thanks in advance for any advice or info!

Hi,

Just as an update, I measured from the corner of the windscreen to the back 1/4 of the hood (the part that comes up when you snap the struts straight and the distance looks exactly the same. However, there still might be a problem in how the windscreen is sitting.

I will take your advice and speak to someone with experience with the screens!

Cheers...

Thanks, I had the struts and rear roof off a few years ago when I had the car painted, so it is worth checking them!
