I went down to Kits and Classics to get Joolz to run the car on the dyno and, if required, do some tweaking.

The car is a standard 4.3 (no indication that it is a big valve one), apart from the car has a new cam which is a v8 development 'stealth'.

I was hoping for 250 bhp plus but was pleasantly surprised. 283 bhp!

Torque was about 292/293 lb ft

There was no real need to do any tweaks so the car wasn't touched.

Anyone with a 4.3 got similar results?

Wow, that's excellent. How many miles has it done and was the cam part of a rebuild? What extra would the hot cam make over standard, 10/20 bhp?

I suspect that's very nearly as much bhp as 500s made fresh from the factory (although the 500 no doubt has a chunk more torque).

No idea what my 4.3 makes and don't care as she is plenty fast enough for me. Makes a rather nice noise as well!
It’s done 65k miles. It was due a cam as I had no power above 4K and was on the original so I chose the v8 developments stealth after they said that the 4.3 can have those. I think they said it gives better performance at the top end than the mc1.

It’s had no other engine work as far as I’m aware in it’s life.

I’m not sure how it compares in bhp vs the mc1 cam or a Kent 214 (which it came with from factory I think).

I think it’s bone stock apart from the stealth.
