Whilst driving home last night in griff...Heard sudden bang followed by a thud, then all warning lights came on, and battery no longer charging? Pulled over and found bottom crankshaft pulley lying on floor of chassis, with ancillaries belt hanging off??
After inspection today, found pulley bolt had sheared in two...Hear this happening occasionly, and was going to change mine as a precaution too late now, but engine and car okay, just need new belt and bolt...

But a warning to check or change your's may prevent a motorway failure, like mine....

I would in hind sight now, have removed the bolt and replaced with new one from TVR..But alas too late..However phoned TVR this morning, and parts guy said"Last time we had this happen had too change whole crankshaft" as bolt is hardened steel? News to me but i am sure with some persuasion the remaing bolt will come out? HOPEFULLY....My car is a 1996 P plate, don't know if this is a common fault for year or not?
