Evening all,

Having bought a C350 fairly recently rather pleasingly my wife is expecting and in Coupe guise the Mercedes simply won't do.

I've always wanted a FFRR and feel that this is the right car for us (me).

Couple of questions and ALL opinions are welcome;

1. Considering a diesel - is it wise with the governments current 'ideas' on diesels over the next few years?

2. TDV8 3.6 - anything to be careful of / or look out for?

3. A Vouge with winter pack and Harmon & Kardon etc anything else that I should be looking out for?

4. Going for a post face lift 2010 model.

5. Do I want / need a tow bar? Did they come standard?

6. Serviceable items? Anything to be careful of?

7. In general, anything I should look out for?

Thank you in advance and feel free to give all / any opinions.

That you for all help and advice.

I've officially paid the deposit and am due to collect on Thursday subject to a 2nd test drive (already had one) and checking everything out.

This is the car;

(The wheels are not to everyone's taste and I'm still undecided but they are genuine RS2 Kahn alloys).

Sooo, a bit of a story to this purchase.

I’ll keep it short, deposit was paid and a price agreed for the RR and my car as a PX. Then little Joe5y arrived and because of an array of issues at birth (both fine now) I pulled out of the deal and my deposit was returned. Thank you for your understanding Cameron.

Roll forward 4 months, I sold my car privately for £2k more than the PX price and started looking for a FFRR. Coincidentally the same day I sold my car the EXACT same car was up for sale for £3k less than it was 4 months prior. Alarm bells naturally but I was too inquisitive not to call.

(Long story shortened). The guy bought it as he was part way through the process of emigrating to Canada and wanted a nice car before he left. Anticipated the process of selling house, business and sercuring jobs being a year or so but he now has a moving date of May 15th. Hence the car up for sale so soon. Having checked his story as and where I could we arranged for me to have a look (the day after I sold mine). House was being boxed up, motorbikes were being sold etc. Checked the car over, test drove, checked all with seller - probing questions etc.

I now have the car I originally ‘bought’ in decmeber for £5k less plus it’s now sporting 2 new tires.
