I purchased a Discovery Sport 2.2 HSE Luxury about a year ago. It was about 18 months old, done just over 7000 miles. The car was registered to Land Rover so I assume it was a demonstrator/loan car etc.

The car has now done around 18,000 miles and I have notice that the tyres are showing signs of wear. The fronts, especially, look like the outside area has worn more than elsewhere.

I’m thinking ahead a bit about possible replacements. Currently fitted are Continental 245/45R20 V 103. I think I saw something a while back where owners reported that the tyre wear I have spotted is a common issue with these OEM tyres. I have in mind Michelin’s Lattitude Cross DT or maybe Pirelli’s Scorpion Verde 102H. Both seems to be better overall than the Continentals

I use the vehicle for road use, around town and quite often long journeys, rarely off road and then only lightly.

I’d appreciate hearing any PHers’ recommendations, experiences etc.

Ewanrobb,

Thanks for your response….always good to get at least one!

I have not made a decision or changed any tyres just yet. I had them inspected last week and was told that the rears have 6mm so they are OK and the fronts 3mm which will be good for around another 2000 miles. They seem to have worn on the edges but the centres are OK. The car is due its first MoT at the end of July and I’ll be having an annual service then, so I’ve decided to fit new fronts mid July.

I have not decided which tyres to fit. I like the OM Contis but they do not seem to achieve a good mileage.

Whatever I decide to fit, I will post on here.
