Land Rover / Range Rover newbie - please advice!

Hi guys,
I’m new to this forum so be gentle. I’ve fallen in love with range rover / land rover cars. I’m saying RR and LR as two cars have gotten to me - the Discovery 4;
and the Land Rover Sport. However, I’ve heard of unreliability issues and been trawling this forum. Any advice would be appreciated, or links etc. More inclined towards the RRS. I have a 3 years old dog and we’re really struggling with our BMW Z4. He is a small breed but would prefer him to be crated up etc for safety and cleanliness. We’ve had the current car for about 5 years now. Previous owner of Ford and Peugeot. I have a max budget of 25k; 28k would be stretching. 20k do-able. Not sure if petrols are available as we love in the city but do the weekend road trip.
