Early Disco 4 borkage factor?

I am toying with chopping in my XF for a Disco 4 around the £15k mark which means 2011-12 cars with circa 100k. I ran my Disco 2 up to 150k so not terribly worried about raw mileage but is this in other ways a route to bills and pain?

Incidentally - what's the deal with the "Panel Van" variant? Some appear to have 7 seats. Presumably VAT on the price?
