Discovery 4 - am I missing something
Discussion
I'm looking for a Disco 4 Commercial but the prices are all over the places, literally some nearly double the price of others at a similar age.
When the 2014 facelift was done, was anything significant done to the engine / gearbox? The newer model reports improved economy but the only difference I can find is the addition of stop-start?
2012+ models are still commanding really strong prices. Is this because people don't like the new Discovery 5?
Higher mileage seems to really hammer the value, but plenty of people say they can take it with ease. Is it a case of buyers happy to pay the premium for 70k miles or so but those in the know are laughing at safely buying for much less at 125k miles??
Internet insight sought!

Cheers - I should clarify though, I meant the last facelift to the one with DISCOVERY on the bonnet and clear headlights. By then the 8 speed ZF and the circular controller was already being used. There's something like 3 mpg improvement (officially) pre and post facelift so I was curious to know whether this was totally down to adding stop-start or there were other engine / gearbox tweaks, or if they remained unchanged.
Ah, thought so.
On the gearbox, personal preference I suppose but if it's the same 8 speed ZF that's in my BMW (and most current ones) it's an incredibly smooth and effective one and way better than the 6 speed in the last 330d I had. Gearchanges are almost imperceptible so I assumed the same in the Discovery / FFRR?

Found a 1 owner 2014 with full history and 140k+ miles. History includes belts changed.
30k+ miles a year since new sounds like it's been mostly motorway, or at least lots of long journeys so properly warm most of the time. And hopefully most of it's life on the road, not being repaired at the garage!
Looks like a much better bet that the 80k mile 2010/11 models that are similarly priced.
