Discovery 4 Xs 2010
Discussion
Good evening.
I bought a discovery 4 yesterday and.... In true discovery fashion I got 2 miles before the 1st issue.
I've got a suspension fault. I don't want to go back to the owner as it was a private sale, plus I got it at a good price for the condition. Also they are earlderly & I don't think they would have known of the issues.
I'm looking for help to diagnose the fault as I'm around 3 hours from the closest LR dealership.
So I started to drive, then a warning in orange 'suspension fault' appeared on the dash, followed by 'normal ride height only' then 'reduce speed to 30 MPH' then the suspension dropped onto the stops.
Today I was having a tinker & then very randomly the suspension would rises to 'off road height' for a few miles then the same issues flag up again.
The compressor, which is the updated AMK which has a date stamped of 2013, seems to run for no more than 10 seconds. It doesnt seem to pressurise though as I took the pipe off & it doesn't leak out & on the other end it doesn't create a suction.
I suspect it to be the compressor but I can't be sure as the time the suspension up I had the pipes disconnected to the compressor, so therefore I assume it used it tank of air but what's causing it to go down while driving? So sound of leaks either time. I had the window open both times & no radio on as I was checking for any issues both time.
I'm happy to buy a new compressor but don't want if it's not needed, obviously.
I've got a health check on Thursday for my additional warranty & my cambelt is booked in for a weeks time so need to get the issue(s) sorted ASAP.
Cheers!
