I shall add pictures later today but it's a nice grey with charcoal and Ivory interior, 2010 5.0 Autobiography on 65k miles.
Total spec with sidesteps, Cameras (that work) heater (to drain the battery), Homelink (setting up later), and full rear entertainment and seat automation.

Full disclosure I have had a 2012 L322 Auto before BUT it was a dirty diesel the only diesel I have ever purchased with my own money and I just could not live with it - its a great engine but I just don't like diesel.

I really like the black headlining as the cream / ivory never appeals but black was a rare option.

Some initial questions for any sages, please.

Passenger side heated seat only the upright LED comes on (you can choose backrest or base) it's only lighting up on the switch centre as a backrest - any ideas on this? possibly the passenger seat only has a back heater? - no surely not.

Do the seat heathers need its filter cleaning to maintain airflow? is it hard to get at?

I have bought a small Bluetooth device to link the iPod connection to the head unit for streaming - it's here Saturday let's try it out.

Tailgate struts will be replaced inc drop down ropes and dampers

The drivers seat has been spayed with a rattle can it looks like - I have a recommended leather wizard to contact, A new cushion and leather cover is £1400 (!) any source for the cushion as may as well replace it?

Cheers - I’ve Sussed it’s a broken led in the actual button !! Passenger seat gets warm.

Drivers seat not warm at all but I’ve a feeling it’s unplugged under the seat - will explore.

New foam base for drivers seat £600 - that doesn’t inc leather cover so that can wait until I see an opportunity.

Homelink set up and working on gate & garage yay!

Rear entertainment works but an issue the remote in the rear armrest beeps all the time - I’ll try switch cleaner.

I’m tinkering today - I love tinkering.

With a 2010, you can buy a Bovee 1000 from Amazon and that will be better option for Bluetooth streaming instead of the five pound 12v thing.

Car has Bluetooth voice as standard.
Yep Bovee arrived today / if I can escape I’ll fit it tomorrow.

Apologies no keys so inside to follow - I’ll rejoin FFRR as well.

It has swivel headlights but no DRL which surprised me.

I think you can set the DRLs to come on via and OBD type tool.
Do you have a plan for the rust on the tailgate? Can it be stopped, slowed down or repaired?
Anyway looks great beast of a car for the money.
It’s only scabby, I’m lucky we have a great body shop and LR specialist nearby hence I took this chance.

Tommorow I’m going over it msking a list of stuff to fix / perfect.

I have the same car, I like it a lot. IIRC we also both had a 760li?

Timing chain replacement seems to be the biggest deal, if it hasn't been done.
Ha probably - My 760 was short wheelbase - really regret selling it.

The RR has a full LR service history but I’ve not checked on the chain yet. Fingers crossed.

Regarding the rear entertainment remote, I guess you know you can remove the remote, I think you have to push the remote in order to release it from its holder/charger. Maybe it beeps because it doesn’t charge properly or the remote is not correctly inserted into its holder/charger. And batteries may need replacing after a while. I had all batteries replaced on mine (headsets and remote) and it worked fine from then on so this could be your solution.

Good shout on batteries, the rear remote works but cycled between sitting on standby and being released from the cradle hence I think it’s dirty contacts - I’ll play tomorrow.

Pretty sure I follow you on TikTok.

If yes, you have a Grand Cherokee and Range Rover in the same fleet?!? That upsets my ying and yang biggrin

The last if the line L322s are lovely looking cars though, especially with the beige interior.

Rust on the tailgate is pretty minor really. The drain holes get blocked and it rusts because water builds up over the years and has no where to go.

The place to really worry about are the rear arches as they are £1500 to fix including spraying.
I’m on TikTok - I get big views for car stuff it pays a few bills. Just done a video on the Range Rover.
Arches are ok both front seats heaters bust might be a connection? Dealer can sort.

So I stuck my head under each seat to listen for the seat heater. On the driver's side it ran for a few minutes then turned off - I am not aware of a safety cut out but will leave it to the experts. For the passenger its not running at all.

First long journey today, my Grand Cherokee did 10 around town and 15 on a run, I am hoping for a bit more from the Rangey. Its got a tank of V Power as atreat.

Grrr rear remote control not working - no infra red coming out of it. I’ll be asking for that to be fixed.

Lovely looking L322, be interested to see how you get on with ownership.

I’ve been running a TDV8 for the past 10 months:

My single/biggest piece of advice is get a Gap iid tool for it. You can see an example of it in action on the first page of that thread. The different DRL options can be coded via this tool.
Great on DRL - which option do you recommend?

You've broken the first rule of ownership - Never go looking for faults!

They will find you!

Second rule of ownership is don't work out the actual MPG. If asked, just answer 'A lot'.

It will use more than a lot but people don't need to know that.
After the Hemi Jeep this is virtually green. If I get near 20 on a run I’ll be chuffed

Fixed rear remote - new battery that is the same as our home phone one - result.

I've a 2010 5.0 S/C Autobiography for 7 years now, currently on 125k miles.

In 30K+ miles the things I've had fixed are (IIRC):

air con condensor
rear tailgate corrosion (standard issue on L322)
A few front suspension arms and drop links
Waterpump (again, standard on this engine, can go anytime)
The single biggest bill was for a transfer box that shat itself around about 100k miles, this led to a gearbox rebuild at the same time as the spline which links the gearbox to the transfer box is not greased in the factory and the splines had been almost worn smooth.

Struggling to think of anything else that it's needed as a 'fix', just standard servicing and consumables. All in all been a great car which explains why I've not changed it out for the 7 years.

Only advise I would give is to check the wheel arches infront of the rear wheels just inside the rear door seals, it's a known corrosion trap but you can get in there and stop it becoming expensive with rust killer and paint/underseal etc...
Brilliant thanks - it’s on 65k so fingers crossed.
It’s got a myriad of little things - today I couldn’t get the petrol pump in the hole without a load of jiggling. Screen washers dribbling is a pain.

On the rust it’s booked in to get cleaned, preventative and a rubber protector fitted.

Has anyone ever Sussed the navigation voice volume? I’ve tried everything still it yells!

The rubber trim protector on the arches traps moisture and salt, despite what the YouTube experts say - speaking from personal experience. I took mine off again and now just make sure the arch lips are kept clean, treat surface rust, and use thick grease/XCP to keep it at bay.
Aha - ok will get it inspected.

I now have heated seats, both blower bellows had cracked forcing them cutting out.

Annoyingly the passenger heated seat switch backrest led is entirely random - weird.

Front washers fixed by lifting up the battery and releasing the pipe!!!!

Rear recline on 1/3 needs a motor - on order.

It’s been faultless over the time I’ve had it, no issues other than ones present at purchase.

I’ve had one before but diesel and this 5.0 is so much smoother and quieter. It’s not so far away from the Bentley.

Next it’s going on for seat sections on drivers seat and a rust check & fix

Just got it back from garage and should the digital dash dim when dark / lights on as it seemed bloody bright driving home.

He said the steering racks leaking, any recommendations for a refurb or a new one? I’ve seen £500 to £4000 ffs.

Needs 2 rear shocks soon but that’s not as bad a job as it once was.

Rack apart I’m stil happy with it.

There's a rotary dial below the headlight switch for dimming the dash.

On the rack leak - how bad? If it rarely needs topping up then leave it?
On the digital dash I think the dimmer is a Dusk sensor it’s definitely not on the dash dimmer

More detail would be best before you decide on the best route - no point throwing a whole new rack at it if you just need a pipe re-making.
It’s in for a check to see if it’s pipes next week.
The none dimming dash is interesting as most think it works off the lights dimmer - it’s def not
