Hi Chaps,

I've Gone and got myself a nice Discovery TD5 ES 7 Seater Auto. It’s a great car and does all the things I bought it for, except it could do with a bit oomph! and use a little less fuel while it’s a about it.

I've been looking various re-mapping firms online, and via L/R forums. A lot of people recommend TD5 alive, but they are based up north, and I am in Kent. I have read about a "by post remap" but to be honest although I'm a Motor Trader Re Mapping is new territory for me, and I'd like to take my car to where it will be worked on, and not trust this By Post method.

I have found a firm called Austec Racing which is based in crawley, which quite close to me.

Anyway has anyone got any experience of:
- The firm I mentioned in crawley?
- Any other remapping place in Kent/West Sussex?
- of re mapping TD5's generally? What can I expect?
- Or anything else useful you think might be good to know?

Thanks!

Thanks for your help so far chaps.

The Map Sensor, is it under the big plastic engine cover?

At the moment, its in having some work on the ABS, I think it may end up needing the ABS pump replacing, which I understand to be a comman failure.

When its out I'll clean the Map Sensor(when I find it!) first then look at the EGR valve. What I dont understand about this EGR valve, if its such an easy and comman fix, and all it seems to do while its in there is cause problems. Why did Land Rover fit it? What is its puppose? and therefore what will be missing if I blank it off?

Has anyone used RCV (Landrover specialist) in Paddock Wood, Kent? They offer tuning on their website. http://www.rcv.co.uk/index.asp
