I read a thread a while back about these, which prompted me to get a phone number from Soho66 and Media5Fone to answer the calls. Which works fine.
Now someone else has a similar set up which I want to take over i.e. answer calls for him. I think I can set up the app with his details OK but is there an option or is it possible for two people to have access to the same number? Basically so that when a call comes through it rings on two phones?

This is a ballache of ballaches. His provider isn't listed on my app, mine isn't listed on his. My app seems to only allow one line/account at a time (but unsure), my app is also being killed off next year. His app isn't the most reliable (neither is mine tbh). None of this is particularly easy, intuitive or robust.
Other than getting an call answering service in some virtual office type thing (which we definitely don't want) what is the 'proper' solution to this?

Does his app do call forwarding, or re-routing?
If so and it is possible to accept forward all calls to your number.
Then look at a SIP/VoIP service for business.
If my number is business A and his is business B and his calls forward to me would I know which business they originally dialled? If so and it is possible to accept forward all calls to your number.
