Chamber of commerce - worth it?

I got the pitch from Birmingham Chamber of Commerce today, events, networking, etc. Anyone use them, worth it?

Thats my concern. We sell relatively low cost, high volume items B2C. I feel that it would be a long burn, scatter gun approach to generating enquiries through members. Are there any other benefits I'm missing?
