Made the move from Apple to android about this time last year, primarily because my old 2G iPhone gave up the ghost and I refused to pay Apple prices for a phone.
Thought I'd take a dive in to the world of Android with a very cheap Wildfire S and like it. Trouble is the Wildfire internal memory is shockingly small and lots of apps don't work well from the SIM card so thought I'd look around for something with more internal memory.
Both Xperia-P and Desire X are in same-ish ballpark price wise and in fact a little more than I'd ideally like to pay but seem to have reasonable spec.
Sony has 8mp camera and 16GB ram while the Desire has 5mp and 4GB. I've no massive need for lots of memory 4GB might just be enough 16 would be plenty.

So which to choose? Sensible money seems to be on the Sony but is there a reason I might want to consider the Desire?

Zespak - absolutely agree about the Wildfire S and it was deliberately chosen as a budget stop gap while I decided if I liked Android. It's proven itself very well even with it's terrible memory capacity but has taught me I don't need to be part of the Apple road train.

So it looks like so far I have 1 vote for the X and one for the P

Budget is around £250 but obviously I'd like to pay less but not drop down to the Wildfire levels of memory (and really that's all that bugs me about it screen size is OK for what I use).

The Ray doesn't have much internal memory though (well for my needs, probably perfect for some folk), I'm thinking 4GB is an absolute minimum.

Yes I guess this is a chance you take with any product that fails in warranty. While I feel for the poster who had trouble I wouldn't let it put me off a phone entirely.

I am leaning towards the Sony tbh.
