What's the predictions, 7s or 8, or maybe both ?

What features are expected ?

Are you considering one ?

Missus is thinking of a change from her Oneplus, my 6 is three and a bit years old, been flawless but thinking September may be the time to trade up whilst it still has some value.

Am no Apple fanboy but it's been brilliant.

Anyone think the relevance of the higher capacities is on the wain ?

My 6 is a 64 GB and about half used, never cleared it down, using Spotify for music, taking a few pictures and a bit of video, bit of space for something to do offline, dont feel the need to get one with loads more storage.

Think they did well to get Paul O Grady to present this Shindig.

Going to stick with my 6 until it dies.

The keynote is a bit cringey, all so achingly PC, how is it everyone is either young and/or gorgeous, Disabled, Black, Chinese, mixed race or occasionally, really, really old, us chunky middle aged white blokes now feel marginalised, if you dont have a magnificent afro, fantastic teeth or a really modern, state of the art prosthetic you dont get a look in, I think they need a fat, sweaty 55 year old Dudley taxi driver doing a funky little dance extolling the benefits of his Iphone for Ladbrokes Casino, RedTube and reposting nasty Britain First propaganda on Facebook.

I think Apple stuff isnt that bad value, if you play it right.

My Original Ipad 2 is still going strong, it is six years old and has been very well used, its replacement Ipad Air 2 is two years old, my Iphone 6 is three years old, never had an issue with any of them and resale value is always decent.

I dont worry about the obsolescence now as that was mainly the very early stuff, the processors got faster and they will cope for longer with a wider variety of stuff.

I got my 64 gb six pretty much at launch (Sim free £619) so thats three years, it is worth £200 or so, so it has cost £11.63 a month if I flog it and buy an 8. Work pay my bills but give me a crappy mid spec Android phone so that gets ditched and my sim put in mine.

Well, rush of blood to the head found me in John Lewis handing over £799 for a 64 GB 8 Plus.

Initially I was a bit meh as well, the six was still pretty good to be fair but this thing is ballistic, the way web pages load is so fast, screen is better, not night and day but definitely an improvement.

The camera is very good, the extra screen of the plus worth having and they now dont look so stupidly huge, remember a mate getting a six plus when the sixes came out, bear in mind everyone was still on 4's and 5's, he did get asked why he had brought his telly in to work etc, now just seems normal.

I just thought it was time to upgrade as mien is three years old and still perfect so has a decent value still, leave it another year and they will have dropped, sort of an optimal time to move, still will get £200 or so, paid £600, got over three years out of the old one, so has cost me £400 over the term and been used every day, just over a tenner a month I reckon it has cost me (work pay the bills)

wax lyrical said:
I bought a used, mint 7-plus (256gb) for £500 and have a Vodafone contract at £20/mth (16gb of data included). This will do me until I upgrade to the XI in a couple of years. The 8 is really just a '7s' in disguise, not a new IPhone.
Only seems to be the faster processor and slight improvement in battery life over a seven, not worth upgrading if you have a 7.

I am noticing a good improvement from my 6 but I went to an 8 plus so part of that is the bigger form factor, definitely faster though.

Is there really going to be that much demand for a £1000 plus mobile phone, I went to John Lewis to get my 8 Plus and they had loads of stock in all colours, were people waiting for the X ?

Quite happy with the 8, the only thing i was interested about the X was the Oled screen, rest is either the same or not interested, facial recognition nah.
